Veloce's Sleeping Beauties Competition

BEAUTY CONTEST BRINGS OUT THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY !

Staff at Veloce Publishing have been pleasantly surprised by the volume of response to the on-line sleeping beauties competition at: velocesleepingbeauties.blogspot.com
We put out a request in the December edition of the Newsletter, 'On The Grid ', for any photos of old, abandoned cars, motorcycles, scooters, trucks, vans or buses and have been overwhelmed by the quality of the photos coming in.

Inspired by one of the forthcoming books, The Fate of The Sleeping Beauties by Ard op de Weegh, Kay Hottendorff and Arnoud op de Weegh, we began a fun, free-to-enter photo competition just before Christmas to help bring to light some of those other undercover beauties that might be out there. So far we've received contributions from as far afield as Canada, New Zealand, the United States, Australia, Cyprus, France, Holland, Madeira, Dubai and the UK. But as yet no motorcycles, scooters or camper vans. So we are asking for more entries to the competition, which will run until the middle of August 2010 - especially entries of UK-based beauties,

The winning entry will receive a free copy of The Fate of The Sleeping Beauties (worth ￡30) as soon as the book is published in September 2010, and (assuming there are enough interesting and usable images) the best 12 entries will receive free copies of the Veloce Sleeping Beauties 2011 calendar, featuring the entrant's own photo as sleeping beauty of the month and the overall winning entrant's photo will also feature on the calendar cover. And all contending entries will be posted on their dedicated blog at: velocesleepingbeauties.blogspot.com where anyone can place comments and vote for the photo of their choice,

Hi.
Have you considered doing a sleeping beauties series of books?
Maybe you could come up with an in-house template like with the EBGs and then throw open the doors to a series of books authored from many countries.
I know this concept worked quite well with many aircraft wreck books from around the world written in the 1970s, 80s and 90s so why not with motor vehicles?
